For a long time, we wanted to create a lightweight, insulating gilet – one that, thrown into a backpack or bag, won’t significantly change the weight of your luggage, and when the temperature drops, worn on the body, will provide real, pleasant warmth.
The men’s Primaloft Taiga gilet consists of two parts: the main section – insulating the chest and back – and elastic inserts sewn into the sides. Thanks to these, it fits the body perfectly and moves with you. We’ve sewn in two really deep pockets fastened with a flat zip, plus a large internal pocket – it will fit a phone (this trick – keeping your phone close to your body – comes in handy during hard frosts, which reduce battery level). The gilet is finished with a stand-up collar that protects the neck and nape from the wind.
When creating the Primaloft Taiga gilet, we wanted to achieve the best possible warmth-to-weight ratio a material can provide. We made the outer part of the gilet (protecting the torso and back) from fabric produced using Ripstop technology (similar to what is used in the production of mountain hammocks and down jackets). The inside of the gilet is an elastic mesh studded with pleasant-to-the-touch insulating Primaloft squares from the Active EVOLVE series. We made the elastic side panels from warm Thermo Pro knit, which wicks moisture and adapts to body movements.
We wanted the gilet to work both for solid mountain routes, running and cycling, but also to fit neatly into an urban-sport style. We’ve got that, right?
At ATTIQ, we believe it’s possible to create timeless clothing. We sew our collections so that they pair well with sportswear in various colours and prints. ATTIQ clothing is made in our workshop in southern Poland. We sew using materials from the European Union.
Properties of Primaloft insulation, Active EVOLVE series:
- provides warmth without increasing the weight or bulk of the insulation
- breathable - does not restrict moisture transfer and ensures freedom of movement during all activities
- quick-drying - minimises heat loss
- provides good thermal insulation even when the insulation is wet
- versatile - can be used during various outdoor activities as an inner or outer clothing layer
- wind-resistant.
