For a long time we wanted to create a lightweight, insulating gilet – one that, thrown into a rucksack or bag, would not significantly change the weight of your luggage, and when the temperature drops, put on the body, would provide real, pleasant warmth.
The Taiga Primaloft men's gilet consists of two parts: the main one – insulating the chest and back – and stretchy inserts sewn into the sides. Thanks to them, it fits the body perfectly and moves with you. We sewed two really deep pockets with a flat zip into the gilet, plus a large internal one – it will fit a phone (this trick – keeping your phone close to your body – comes in handy in severe frosts, which reduce battery levels). The gilet is finished with a stand-up collar that protects the neck and nape from the wind.
When creating the Taiga Primaloft gilet, we wanted to achieve the best possible warmth-to-weight ratio a material can offer. We made the outer part of the gilet (protecting the torso and back) from fabric produced using Ripstop technology (similar to that used in the production of mountain hammocks and down jackets). The inside of the gilet is an elastic mesh studded with pleasant-to-the-touch insulating Primaloft squares from the Active EVOLVE series. We made the stretchy side inserts from warm Thermo Pro knitwear that wicks moisture away and adapts to the body's movements.
We wanted the gilet to work both for demanding mountain routes, running and cycling, but also to fit neatly into an urban-sport style. We’ve probably got it, right?
At ATTIQ we believe it is possible to create timeless clothing. We sew our collections so that they pair well with sportswear in various colours and prints. ATTIQ clothing is made in our workshop in southern Poland. We sew using materials from the European Union.
Properties of Primaloft insulation, Active EVOLVE series:
- provides warmth without increasing the weight and bulk of the insulation
- breathable - does not restrict moisture flow and provides freedom of movement during all activities
- quick-drying - minimises heat loss
- provides good thermal insulation even when the insulation is wet
- versatile - can be used during various outdoor activities as an inner or outer layer of clothing
- wind-resistant.
